Opens the component properties dialog box, displaying information about the component.

Mark and data

Mark

The component mark is automatically calculated according to the project settings.

Mode: If you select the Automatic mode, the mark is calculate automatically according to the configuration settings. If you select Manual mode, you must enter the mark manually in the Mark setting.

Mark: Displays the automatic mark or used to enter the manual mark.

Root: Displays the root associated to the component depending the component class.

Number: Displays the order number assigned to the component. You can change this number but you cannot used an existing number.

Permanent component: When the last symbol representing the component is deleted, the component is also deleted. If you check this box, the component is not deleted.

To delete a permanent component, use the command Delete component in its contextual menu in the Components tab (dockable panel).

hierarchy

Class name: Allows to change the component classification. This is used when applying a manufacturer part. It also allows you to define the root used during automatic marking.

Master: Displays the name of the main component which a child or sub component is dependent on (such as a PLC card and its rack).

Location / Function: During symbol insertion, the location (function) is automatically taken from the drawing, or the location (function) outline if the symbol was inserted inside one. You can assign a different location (function) by clicking the button [...] and selecting the location (function) you want.

Manufacturer data

This data comes from the manufacturer part, but can be manually modified. The data types are specified in the definition of the class.

Description

The first translatable data field of the component. You can enter a description in all languages managed in the project.

User data / Translatable data

The user data fields can be used to enter all information that you would like to manage for the component. Click on the Customize... button to edit names.

Manufacturer part and circuits
